Government says it will do everything possible to retrieve all monies paid illegally to individuals and companies.
A deputy Information Minister Ibrahim Murtala Mohammed gave the assurance at a press briefing on Monday.
The assurance comes days after former Attorney-General and Minister of Justice, Martin Amidu won a landmark case against Waterville Holdings with the courts issuing an order for Waterville to refund monies in excess of €40 million illegally paid to it.
Murtala Mohammed said the government will not relent on its efforts to retrieving all monies paid illegally.
On the incessant fires, the deputy Minister is convinced that the fires may be the handiworks of arsonists.
He said those who criticized the president for suggesting that arsonists were behind the fires must be changing their minds.
There were at least four different fires in Accra and Kumasi over the week end which claimed at least three lives and destroyed properties.
The deputy minister said investigations have already started in all the fire cases that have happened.
He could not however confirm if the US team brought to assist in investigations into the fire incidents will be investigating the fire cases in Kumasi.
He added government is not paying a penny to the US investigators.
