The Minister for Youth Development and Empowerment, George Opare Addo, has reassured the young people of Ghana of the government’s unwavering commitment to their growth and advancement, as part of a broader national “reset agenda.”
Speaking at the launch of the Adwumawura programme in Kumasi on Monday, April 28, the Minister declared: “To the youth of Ghana, I want to reaffirm my belief in your capabilities. You are not idle — you are waiting for the right opportunities to flourish.”
The Minister praised the resilience and potential of young Ghanaians, emphasising that under the leadership of President John Mahama, the current administration is determined to create the conditions necessary for youth empowerment and participation.
“This government is dedicated to fostering an environment that nurtures your growth and your development,” the Minister said.
He added “Remember, there is always hope — a light at the end of the tunnel.”
Urging young people to take an active role in shaping their own destinies, the Minister called on them to “seize the opportunity and actively participate in reshaping your own future and the futures of generations to come.”
He characterised the present moment as a turning point: “The era of missed opportunities is behind us. This is the dawn of a new era — the beginning of the reset agenda — ignited by the efforts of you.”
The “reset agenda” has been touted as a policy shift aimed at revitalising the country’s socio-economic landscape through inclusive development, youth entrepreneurship, and job creation.
