Three games into the 2024/25 Ghana Premier League season, Young Apostles and Aduana FC are both winless.
However, on Sunday, September 29, the two teams will come up against each other looking to end their winless start to the new campaign. It's been two draws for the two teams each with a defeat to add to their tally.
Apostles have had back-to-back draws against Nations FC and Asante Kotoko and will be looking to build on the latter. They were close to unsettling the Porcupine Warriors until Emmanuel Antwi's strike to deny them all three points.
The newly promoted side continues to adapt to the new environment and head coach Joseph Asare Bediako will be relying on the voices of the people of Wenchi to do damage in their next game.
Two stalemates in the opening two games of the season were followed by a home defeat to Nations FC last weekend raising concerns at the club.
Aduana are under pressure to get back to winning and the game against Young Apostles affords them the opportunity.
The Ogya Boys will need to get their things right if they are to bring an end to their needless run.
Stats
This will be the first meeting between the two sides in the league and across all competitions.
In terms of performance in front of goal, Aduana (2) have scored one more than Young Apostles (1) have managed in the league after three games.
The Wenchi-based side, however, boast a better defence having conceded just two goals while Aduana let in three at this stage of the season.
What has been said
While early frustration has set in for Aduana, head coach, Yaw Acheampong says he's "not frustrated at all."
"That is football. It's win, lose or draw. We have to motivate ourselves.; if we can do that, we can motivate the players. But if we can't motivate ourselves, then we can't motivate the players...We are working very hard to work on [our mistakes from last week]."
The game kicks off at 3:00 PM at the Wenchi Sports Stadium.
