Newcomers Young Apostles picked up their third win of the Ghana Premier League season following their victory over Samartex.
Samuel Prempeh scored the only goal of the game for the Young Apostles as they ensured the Timber Giants suffered their first home defeat since March 2024.
The newly promoted side came into the fixture at the Nsenkyire Sports Arena in Samreboi looking for a first win after two winless games, having lost one and drawn the other.
Samartex, on the other hand, were hoping to make it back-to-back wins having beaten Legon Cities in their last game.
The two teams made a good start to the game with end-to-end stuff in the opening half. However, there was nothing to separate them at the end of 45 minutes.
After the recess, both teams continued to press for the opener but it was the hope side who were fortunate in the 64th minute.
Prempeh's strike found it way past Kofi Baah in goal for Samartex to give Apostles the lead.
Despite a spirited late attempt from the home, they were unable to tie the game as the away side run away with all three points.
The win lifts Young Apostles into the 10th position with other results going their favour.
Samartex drop to sixth on the table after 11 games played.
