Eleven Wonders began the second round of the Ghana Premier League on a good note with an impressive 2-0 victory over Basake Holy Stars on Friday at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium.
Coming into the match bottom of the table, Eleven Wonders showed tenacity and defensive discipline to secure a much-needed win.
Striker Rauf Munah was the hero of the night, scoring twice shortly after halftime. He opened the scoring in the 48th minute and added a second four minutes later to seal Eleven Wonders’ best spell of the match.
Basake Holy Stars dominated possession and created several chances but lacked the cutting edge in front of goal. Eleven Wonders, however, were resolute and held firm to secure all three points.
Despite the victory, Eleven Wonders remain 18th on the table with nine points, while Basake Holy Stars stay 14th with 20 points.
