Board Member of Hearts of Oak, Dr. Nyaho Nyaho-Tamakloe, has called on the Ghana Football Association’s Disciplinary Committee to “discipline” referee Reginald Collins Amoah for what he describes as an “incompetent” performance during the Ghana Premier League clash between Asante Kotoko and the Phobians.
The match official awarded Kotoko a penalty after Hearts defender Yaw Amankwa Baafi was adjudged to have brought down Peter Amidu Acquah inside the box.
The resulting spot-kick was converted by Guinean forward Morifing Donzo, handing Hearts their first defeat of the season.
Mawuli Wayo’s stoppage-time equaliser was also ruled out for offside, a decision that infuriated Nyaho-Tamakloe.
“I call on the GFA to discipline Referee Reginald Collins Amoah. He is incompetent,” he told Asempa FM.
“Either he is incompetent or somebody has put money into his hands.”
“This sort of nonsense is what I hate in this country. When the thing is wrong, it is wrong irrespective of who has committed that offense.”
Meanwhile, the GFA Disciplinary Committee has charged Hearts of Oak and midfielder Hussein Mohammed for misconduct during the same fixture.
In a statement, the GFA said Hearts “failed to control its players” after the final whistle, as well as their supporters, who threw “objects onto the field of play.”
Hussein was also accused of assaulting referee Amoah as the official, under police protection, made his way to the tunnel.
Both parties have until Tuesday, November 11, to respond to the charges.
