Bibiani GoldStars continued their good run of form following their win on matchday eight of the Ghana Premier League.
The Miners recorded a 1-0 win over Young Apostles to make it three wins in their last four games.
Sampson Eduku scored the only goal of a keenly-contested game at the Dun’s Park.
Gold Stars enjoyed a great spell of possession in the opening minutes of the game and created some decent chances.
However, they were unable to convert their chances and make the visiting team pay for leaving spaces behind their defence.
Eduku changed that narrative before the break as he scored in added time of the opening half to break the deadlock.
GoldStars went into the break with just the 1-0 lead from Eduku’s goal.
After the recess, the two teams continued to have a go at each other.
Young Apostles had opportunities to draw level but the home team were keen to keep a clean sheet and ensure they claim all three points.
Having achieved their mission, GoldStars now climb to third position on the league table, two points behind league leaders Aduana FC and one behind second-placed Medeama.
GoldStars are up against Basake Holy Stars in their next league game while Young Apostles face Bechem United at home.
