Another match-day five fixture that many will look forward to.
The Phobians will travel to the Golden City Park on Sunday with the aim of making it three wins in their last three league games. Hearts started the season on a very slow note after failing to record a win in any of their first two ties.
However, coach Henry Wellington and his side have flipped the script in recent weeks by recording back-to-back wins over Dwarfs and Dreams FC respectively.
Up next for the Phobians, though, is a tough trip to relegation threatened Berekum Chelsea. The Blues have been absolutely shambolic this season, and after four rounds of matches, it is not looking so good.
In their last three games, the Berekum-based side has managed to get on the score sheet just once. More worrying is the fact that they have conceded in all of their games this season – a return that highlights a leaky and shaky defense.
Hearts would definitely be smiling as they go into this fixture, especially looking at the dire situation that Berekum Chelsea find themselves. However, it will be totally outrageous to completely rule the Blues out of Sunday’s game.
Though they are currently going through a patchy path, the Berekum-based side still have the quality to trouble any side when they get a good day at the office. Unfortunately, such rainy days have been hard to come by this season, but everything could change against Hearts of Oak.
For the second season running, the 2010/2011 GPL champions are seriously battling against the drop and they will need to start picking points in order to avoid a disastrous ending to the season.
Meanwhile, Hearts, who currently occupy third spot, could move to the summit of the table if they are able to win and leaders Ashanti Gold lose in the other fixture.
Berekum Chelsea – together with Liberty Professionals – remain the only team yet to record a win after four rounds of matches in the GPL. Such a woeful record automatically makes Hearts of Oak favourites for the game, but the Phobians will need to work beyond themselves if they are to carry the day.
The Golden City Park has not been a particularly good ground for the Phobians, having lost 1-0 against the Blues at the very venue last season. And with Berekum Chelsea bent on moving out of the relegation zone, a tough game is expected on Sunday.
