Second-placed WAFA will make the long trip to Accra to take on Inter Allies at the Tema Park.
The Academy Boys started the season in imperious form by picking seven points from a possible nine, having won twice and drawn once in their first three games.
However, they were brought down to earth last week after a 2-0 reverse by Elmina Sharks.
Unfortunately, there will be no time to dwell on that loss with another away clash against Inter Allies set to come on Sunday.
The Tema-based side has been one of the surprise packages this season, and currently sit in mid-table after amassing six points. However, they are going into this week’s encounter on the back of a demoralizing 6-0 loss suffered at the hands of Aduana Stars last week.
Inter Allies were totally outplayed and outclassed in that game against the defending champions and such a huge loss could play on the psyche of their players. It's a situation that offers WAFA the advantage.
While the Sogakope-based side have not also enjoyed a particularly good run on the road, they should have enough firepower to stop Allies. In attacker Aminu Mohammed, WAFA boast a beast who has tormented opposition defenses this season with his pace and trickery. The teenager has netted three goals and assisted a further one in four games so far this season.
Inter Allies would also expect Nigerien sensation Victorien Adebayor to come to the party following his two-goal heroics for Kenichi Yatsuhashi’s side on the opening day of the season.
Both Inter Allies and WAFA are separated by just a point and a win for either side will go a long way to decide where they finish at the end of the season.
