Kumasi Asante Kotoko's Ghana Premier League title credentials were evident over the weekend when they defeated Aduana Stars in Dormaa to break a long-standing winless un against the Ogya boys away from home.
Goals from George Mfeuge and Richmond Lamptey on Saturday were enough for the Porcupine Warriors, who moved ahead of Aduana on the league table with a first win in Dormaa in over a decade.
King Faisal, having beaten Kotoko in midweek in the FA Cup kept their momentum as they went past Bibiani Gold Stars at home on Sunday.
The Insha Allah lads needed goals from Osman Ibrahim and Zubairu Ibrahim to ensure they walked away with all three points from the Baba Yara Stadium.
Karela United were big winners over Eleven Wonders as they beat the Techiman-based club with a 4-2 scoreline at the Crosby Awuah Memorial park. Samuel Atta Kumi, Richard Berko (2) and Umar Bashiru were among the goals for the home side while Ibrahim Laar scored two consolation goals for Wonders.
Accra Hearts of Oak were held to a goalless draw in their fixture against Bechem United after returning to the Accra Sports Stadium. The stalemate means the Phobians have recorded five draws in nine games - half the number of draws they played in the entire 2020/21 season.
Real Tamale United and Dreams FC were in involved in a goalfest at the Aliu Mahama Stadium with four goals being produced. Ronald Frimpong and Stephen Dankwa Badu were on the scoresheet for RTU, while Ibrahim Issah and Ali Huzaf also scored for Dreams.
WAFA bounced backed to winning ways at home against Elmina Sharks as Justus Torsutsey and Samuel Agyapong scored to seal the needed win.
There are three games still left to be played as AshatiGold take on Medeama. Berekum Chelsea will also face Great Olympics with Legon Cities hosting Accra Lions.
