Mawuli Goka, an employee of Geo-China International Engineering Company, the firm working on the Denu-Aflao stretch of the Accra-Aflao Highway was on Thursday run-over by the rear tyres of the company’s grader.
Mr Emmanuel Odonkor, Aflao District Police Commander told the Ghana News Agency that at about 1330 hours, Jonas Adawi, the grader operator mounted the machine to continue work after a short break.
He said while in motion, the deceased, 28, who was in charge of traffic attempted to mount the grader, but missed it and fell off, and was run over by the grader’s rear tyres, flattening his head.
Mr Odonkor said the operator who was unaware of what had happened felt a hunch in the movement of the machine and stretched his head to find out only to see Goka under the grader.
He said the body had been deposited at the Ketu-South District Hospital pending autopsy and further investigations.
