A young graduate Ennin Black has invented a solar-powered sink to help prevent the spread of Covid-19.
The motion-activated innovation which went viral on social media has been received by many as one of the most effective ways to encourage handwashing, which has been recommended by experts to be a hygienic way to curb the spread of the virus.
The system, which the innovator calls Solar Wash, is triggered by a motion-sensors and also discharges a liquid soap.
After the flow of water has been triggered it flows automatically 20 seconds - recommended time to wash hands.
The device has an alarm system which the Christian Service University graduate says aids the user to know the time of each discharge.
A user is therefore able to go through the process without touching any part of the device as the water flows from the barrel, decorated in the colours of Ghana’s flag, onto the user’s hand.
Luv FM’s Erastus Asare Donkor visited Mr Black and filed the following report.
