Barely a week ago on November 29, Ghana witnessed a remarkable night of celebration at Africa’s biggest disc jockeying event, yet, organizers are already counting down to the 2026 edition.
Merqury Republic, the brain behind the revered Ghana DJ Awards, powered by Smirnoff, has announced Friday, December 4, 2026 as the date for the 14th edition of the event that celebrates the hardwork and influence of DJs in Ghana and beyond. A 365-day countdown begun yesterday to that effect.

This year’s Guinness Ghana DJ Awards, held at the Palms Convention Center, has been hailed as one of the most successful in the award scheme’s history. The night saw stunning sets from some of Ghana’s most loved acts, including Merqury Quaye, DJ Pho and DJ Sonaty with mind-blowing music performances from Medikal, Keche, Fameye and Lali x Lola.

The climax of the night crowned DJ Sly King as the DJ of the Year, a well-deserved win that has gotten the DJ fraternity and music industry talking.

The event also honored legends whose influence have shaped the national DJ landscape. Joy FM’s iconic mid-morning show host, Doreen Andoh, received the Lifetime Achievement Award, while Mr. Kofi Amoakohene was presented with the prestigious Special Recognition Award.
According to the Creative Director at Merqury Republic, “the 2025 edition is still considered the beginning and a warm-up to bigger things in 2026”. Merqury Quaye further revealed that all the major build-up activities that energized the culture this year including the Pub Fest and Ghana DJ Clinic will be expanded in 2026, with many others under wraps.
The 14th edition of the Ghana DJ Awards, comes off on Friday, December 4, 2026, a perfect setup for DJs and their supporters, fans, music lovers and industry icons to roll straight from an unforgettable awards night on a holiday into a full weekend of celebration.
Fans are encouraged to join the 365-day countdown, a unique initiative rarely undertaken by any awards scheme in Ghana. Organizers promise exclusive updates, behind-the-scenes content, spotlight stories, and fan engagement activities throughout the year.
Music lovers, DJs, revelers, and the entire creative community can start marking their calendars, because the road to Ghana DJ Awards 2026 begins now. Meanwhile, see full list of award winners for the 2025 edition.
