Black Stars full back Harrison Afful has revealed his search for a fresh challenge played a major role in his decision not to extend his contract with Tunisian giants Esperance.
The former Asante Kotoko player, whose contract expired on June 30, is now a free agent after rejecting an extension.
But the Ghana International is no rush to secure a new deal despite being linked to several clubs.
“I want a fresh challenge because I have served my best and given Esperance my best in the last six years,” Afful said.
“I have a lot of offers from clubs but I will only join a club which will meet my terms. I’m not in a rush,” he told African Football.
Afful spent six years in Tunisia winning the Caf Champions League in 2011 in addition to four league titles. He has been linked to UAE side Al Wahda.
