The Headmaster of Gomoa Secondary Technical School (GSTS) at Gomoa Dawurampong, James Kwaw Buafi, has been asked to hand over the administration of the school to his Assistant, Fred Oscar Abban.
This followed a 10-point petition to the Gomoa District and Central Regional Directors of Education, accusing him of misconduct, abuse of authority and mal-administration signed by 60 teaching and non-teaching staff calling for his immediate removal from office.
The District Director, Mrs Beatrice Lokko, in consultation with the Regional Director after a fact-finding mission to the school asked Mr Buafi, who is an elected member of the District Assembly to proceed on a 30-day leave pending his transfer.
Speaking at a meeting with the staff, Mrs Lokko commended them for their peaceful conduct and urged them to create an atmosphere to enable the final year students to write their examinations.
A spokesman for the staff expressed their gratitude to the Directors for their prompt action on the petition and expressed their commitment.Source: GNA
