Mr. Sam Appiah Sarpong, national co-ordinator of Presbyterian Health Services has entreated health workers to exercise patience and show tender loving care for patients.He acknowledged that the national health insurance scheme had added to society’s demands from health workers, “who however have no excuse to compromise the dignity implicit in their vocation”. The national co-ordinator was speaking at an end of year get-together organized for the staff of the Presbyterian hospital at Dormaa Ahenkro. The Dormaa branch of the Assemblies of God Church presented a 4000 Ghana Cedis electro-surgical machine to the hospital at the function. The Reverend Felix John Yeboah, Dormaa District pastor of the Church, said the machine, which controls blood flow during surgical operations, was procured by the church with funds provided by an American couple, Dr and Mrs. Mark Kofford. Mr. Fred Effah-Yeboah, General Manager of the hospital who received the item, commended the American couple for their interest in the hospital and pledged that the equipment would be used judiciously. He announced a four-tier New Year resolution aimed at improving staff performance and closing relations between staff and other stakeholders. The general manager appealed to the staff to avoid discrimination in the discharge of their duties and to abide by their professional ethics. Braimah Oppong Yaw Boabasa Ababio, Gyaasehene of Dormaa traditional council, commended the management of the hospital for reviving the end of year dinner after nearly two decades of absence from the hospital’s calendar.Source: GNA
