Accra Hearts of Oak broke the unbeaten home record of News Edubiase Fc when they chalked a 2-0 victory over their opponents in their 27th Week Glo Premier League match at the Gyamfi Park at Asante Bekwai on Wednesday.
Hearts who played a highly spirited game have thus escaped from the relegation zone.
Edubiase who played their hearts out in the opening minutes of the game had a chance to open the scores but Ebenezer Ofori's shots at goal was easily saved by goalkeeper Laud Quartey in the third minute.
The ball from then moved from one end of the field to the other until Hearts Douglas Nkrumah broke the deadlock in the 33rd minute.
Both sides came from the recess stronger but it was Hearts who had the upper hand as they went ahead to increase their goal tally to two in the 55th minute through Moro Abubakari.
Hearts after the second goal, took absolute control of the game and tried as much as possible for more goals but all their attempts at goal eluded them until the referee brought proceedings to an end.
