CH Group Foundation, the philanthropic arm of CH Group, has donated GH¢500,000 to the Children Support Fund for the families of the national heroes who lost their lives in the August 6 helicopter crash.
This contribution was made possible through the collective support of CH Group’s subsidiaries and affiliated companies, including Chase Petroleum, Goldkey Properties, Tema Tank Farm, NOVA, Base Energy, Denton Property Managers and Surge Microfinance.
The donation is aimed at easing the burden of families affected by the tragic helicopter crash, with particular focus on safeguarding the future of the children left behind.
This gesture reflects the Foundation’s belief that corporate leadership is not only measured in business success but also in standing with the nation during its most difficult moments.
The Children Support Fund was established to ensure that the dependents of those who lost their lives in the crash are cared for, with special attention to their welfare and education. For the CH Group Foundation, this aligns directly with its mission of creating access to high-quality education for under-resourced people and communities in Ghana and across Africa.
Mr. Kwaku Bediako, Executive Chairman of CH Group, expressed the Foundation’s deep empathy and commitment in a statement: “We mourn with the nation and with the families who have lost their loved ones. They made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country.
"Our gesture is our way of shining a ray of light in the midst of deep darkness—our way of ensuring that their children will not be left behind. Education is at the core of our Foundation’s work because it is the most enduring legacy we can leave.
"This is an investment in future leaders, innovators, and thinkers who will one day carry on their parents’ dreams.”
The lives lost will forever remain a testament of service and sacrifice. While the sorrow is deep, we are reminded of the promise in Isaiah 41:10: “Do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you.”
