A district magistrate court at Breman Asikuma in the Central Region, has remanded a 50-year-old herbalist from Breman Asenteam for giving concoction to a boy, Kofi Beyeden, resulting in his death.
Agbetsifa Afatsiawu who pleaded guilty will reappear before the court on July 24.
Police Chief Inspector Gershon Awuyeh told the court presided over by Miss Cynthia Hammond that on June 21 this year, one Lawrence Kojo asked three boys including Beyeden to cart firewood from the bush to the roadside for a fee.
Prosecution said Kojo did not pay the boys on completion of the job but sent the firewood to Kasoa for sale.
Chief Inspector Awuyeh said Kojo returned from Kasoa and asked the boys to wait for him whilst he went to Fosoansa, a near by village to look for money to pay them.
The prosecution said the boys left for their various homes because Kojo did not return from the village.
Chief Inspector Awuyeh said at about 2230 hours the same day Kojo went to they boys and said he suspected them of stealing his 50 Ghana cedis from his room.
Chief Inspector Awuyeh said the herbalist gave some concoction to the boys when Kojo sent them there to consult the oracle to find out who stole the money.
He said after when taking the concotion, Beyeden started behaving abnormally, vomiting, went to toilet and become unconscious, he was rushed to the Our Lady of Grace hospital at Breman Asikuma but died soon on arrival at the facility.
Chief Inspector Awuyeh told the court that the body of the boy has been deposited at Cape Coast Central Regional Hospital mortuary for autopsy and the rest of concoction had been sent to Narcotic Control Board for examination.
He said the police were hunting for Kojo to help them in their investigations.
