HFC Bank (Ghana) Limited, a subsidiary of Republic Financial Holdings Limited has organised a nationwide Clean-up exercise across its branch network ahead of the HFC-Infanta Ride Out Malaria cycling tour which starts from Friday, 15th of September.

The HFC-Infanta Ride-Out Malaria Cycling Tour is an initiative by HFC Bank Ghana in partnership with Infanta Malaria Prevention Foundation, a foundation chaired by the First Lady of Ghana Madam Rebecca Akufo-Addo.

The objective of the campaign is to create awareness of a Cleaner Ghana and to raise funds towards the building of a Community-Based Health Planning Services (CHPS) Compound in Nyanshegu a suburb of Tamale, Northern Region.

The Clean-up exercise is expected to herald the ‘Ride out Malaria Campaign’ as well as sensitize the citizenry of the Republic of Ghana on the importance of maintaining a clean environment at all times. HFC is pleased to advise that all of its 43 branches are expected to take part in the important exercise. 

The Ride Out Malaria Tour is a 668 kilometer Cycling Tour expected to start from the location where the CHPS compound is being built at Nyanshegu, in the suburb of Tamale in the Northern Region on 15th September 2017 and end in Accra at the HFC Bank’s Head Office on the 23rd of September 2017.

 The cyclists will be making stopovers at specific HFC Bank Branches within the Northern, Brong Ahafo, Ashanti, and Eastern Regions. At each stopover, a mini awareness program will be held and funds will be raised towards the CHPS project. HFC Bank has partnered with the Velocity and the Chain Gang Cycling Groups to embark on the Awareness Cycling Tour.

A Community-Based Health Planning Services (CHPS) Compound serves as a primary centre for health care in areas where access to a clinic or a hospital would take a journey. It is estimated that thousands of Ghanaians lose their lives a year due to distant hospitals and clinics. The CHPS Compound being built at Nyanshegu in Tamale is expected to provide doorstep treatments including Malaria, childhood illness, and maternal care.
