The National House of Chiefs is worried about the seeming tension Ghana is currently experiencing after the December 7 polls.
The Chiefs say although the Electoral Commission declared President John Mahama as Ghana’s President on December 9, recent agitation following the declaration is creating tension.
President of the National House of Chiefs, Prof Naa John Nabila told Joy News the pockets of violence must be addressed before it degenerates.
He therefore appealed to political parties that are "not happy" with the results to find amicable means to resolve their problems, “without recrimination so that we can keep the nation together”.
He said the nation needs peace and unity to focus on its development projects.
Prof Nabila said the seeming tension has come to the notice of the House of Chiefs and called on all not to “behave like ostriches and think that there is nothing going on”.
