Former Ghana international Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu has announced that he is currently a free agent and is looking to sign for a new club in January.
The 30-year-old last featured for Italian side Hellas Verona, a club he initially joined in July 2019 on loan. He made the move permanent after the 2019/20 season came to an end.
But, the former Udinese midfielder confirmed that he and the club cordially agreed to the termination of his contract and he is searching for a new club.
His contract was due to expire in June 2022.
"I am a free agent now. I had an agreement with Hellas Verona so the contract is no more valid and I can sign with any club," he informed Nathaniel Attoh on the Joy Sports Link.
"I have gone through a lot of stress with COVID-19 in Italy so I decided to come home, relax my mind a bit and see which club I can join this January," he added.
Agyemang-Badu endured a difficult time at Verona due to injuries. He was hospitalised prior to the start of 2019/20 season when it was discovered he had blood clots in his lungs.
He joined Verona from fellow Serie A side Udinese, ending his nine years association with the club.
