Former President John Dramani Mahama says the main purpose of seeking re-election is to finish all projects and policies initiated during his tenure.
This according to him is because the NPP government has abandoned many of the major projects his government started.
Mr. Mahama who made the comments when he paid a courtesy call on the Omanhene of Wassaw Amanfi Traditional Area and the newly elected President of the Western Regional House of Chiefs, Tetreteh Okuamoa Sekyim said, the situation was disheartening.
Citing some abandoned projects within the region to back his claims, the flagbearer for the NDC said his next government will complete all within a year when he wins power in the 2020 general election.
Mr. Mahama said since graduate and youth unemployment is a major issue in Ghana, the NDC government through various policies outlined in its People's Manifesto is ready to fight the canker.
He said policies such as the 'Big Push' and others will create millions of jobs for the youth so some social vices like armed robbery and political vigilantism will reduce drastically.
The Presidential Candidate, while congratulating Tetreteh Okuamoah Sekyim on his election as the President of the Western Regional House of Chiefs, also used the opportunity to introduce the party's Parliamentary Candidate for Amenfi East Constituency, Nicholas Amankwa.
He urged the electorates to vote massively for the parliamentary candidate and the NDC, so the party can resume its responsibility to the citizenry.
On his part, the Okuamuah Sekyum thanked the former President for his visit and admitted that the unemployment rate in the area is high.
He also urged Mr. Mahama to consider helping the community to mine the Wassa Mansie iron ore so as to creat employment for the youth in the area.
