The Editor-in-Chief of the New Crusading Guide Newspaper, Abdul Malik Kweku Baako, says he is tired of commenting on and examining the behaviour of former President Jerry John Rawlings.He said as far as he was concerned, Mr Rawlings is the luckiest Ghanaian especially at a time that his party is in power. He believes the former president must exercise restraint and allow the Mills government to rule in peace.Mr Baako was reacting to Mrs Rawlings, Nana Konadu Rawlings' assertion Wednesday on Joy FM that her husband's criticisms of the government were based on complaints he received from ordinary Ghanaians.Speaking on Metro TV’s Good Morning Ghana programme Thursday, Kweku Baako said that having ruled Ghana for nearly two decades, Mr Rawlings owed himself and Ghanaians a duty to put his wealth of experience to better use to help enhance the nation’s governance system.According to him, Mr Rawlings thinks “he is the best thing that happened to Ghana ever since he appeared on the political landscape” and has criticized all heads of state in this country except himself.The avowed critic of the Rawlingses was particularly revolted at the former First Family's inability to, in his opinion, draw a distinction between criticisms, insults and criminalization.“Listen carefully to things that Mr Rawlings says, even about his own government; it is not criticism, it is criminalization and he offers no proof,” he said.Malik Baako accused the ex-president of instigating agitation, hooliganism and vandalism in his party - the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC).When the programme host Samuel Agyemang, asked how he came by that conclusion, Mr Baako retorted “I have been in politics for too long to know that those things he says can inspire hooliganism and vandalism… He should give us a break… he should exercise some restraint and allow the government to rule because they have the mandate to do so.”He added that if the ex-president has any experience to share, “let him share it and share it in a very dignified manner and stop this street agitation.”Play the attached audio and listen to Mr Kweku Baako.By: Dorcas Efe Mensah/myjoyonline.com/Ghana
