NDC Parliamentary Candidate, Okaikwei Central, Sadiq Abdulai Abu, says as part of his campaign to victory in the just ended NDC primaries, he made it a target to visit the houses of 1000 delegates.
According to Sadiq Abu, while he was unable to reach that target, he had successfully engaged 800 delegates in their houses and had shared his message with them.
He noted that his interaction with those 800 delegates had further shaped his campaign message thus winning him his victory.
He said he managed to achieve this arduous feat by the application of his very strong work ethic, and he intends to continue to do so when he is finally given the nod to serve the constituency in parliament.
“In everything that I have done, I have always sought to have a very strong work ethic and so I just had to apply that. One of the things I did on the quiet without anybody knowing was that I had said to my team in the beginning that I wanted to know the faces and houses of about 1000 delegates before the end of the year last year.
“I remember the first thing that popped up from within my team was ‘ei, this is not possible, how? Time no dey.’ And I said listen, let’s do the harder stuff, let’s do the hard work. So we spent time going – we couldn’t achieve the 1000 target, but we did almost 800 where we knew we went to each and everyone’s house, spoke to them, engaged them, out of this 800 had their contacts and then introduced the message to them.
“So by the time we were going to the branches this group, the interactions with them and the feedback, all of that went into the messaging we took around during the branches and all of that helped,” he said on JoyNews’ PM Express.
He noted that in order to do a meticulous job, he stepped down from his company and dedicated himself fully to the political process, thus earning him his victory.
“You know at a point I had to step down from the company I had founded all because I wanted to apply myself fully to the process and to ensure that we leave no stone unturned as much as possible to enable us win, and that’s what we did.”
