Assistant coach of Accra Hearts of Oak, David Ocloo, says he is not worried about his position at the club despite pressure from fans after the CAF Confederation Cup exit on Sunday, October 16.
The Phobians bowed out of the competition with a 1-3 aggregate score despite winning 1-0 at the Accra Sports Stadium through Caleb Amankwah's strike.
Ocloo was appointed following the dismissal of Samuel Boadu after a poor start to the 2022/23 Ghana Premier League season. The former Kotoko assistant coach is being assisted by U-20 coach, Samuel Nii Noi at the moment.
"I feel very welcome, this is football, coaches are hired and fired, that is it. [Samuel] Boadu’s tenure is over, I’m interim," Ocloo told Radio Gold Sports in an interview.
"Maybe this is the end of my tenure as assistant coach of Accra Hearts of Oak.
"I feel very safe and comfortable [at Accra Hearts of Oak]."
With Hearts still in search of a new head coach, Ocloo will be in charge of the team for subsequent training as they wait for the outcome of the Ghana Football Association's case with AshantiGold, which has seen the suspension of the Premier League.
