The Minister for Roads and Highways, Kwame Agbodza, has expressed his readiness to work to the satisfaction of the public and to honour the trust the state has reposed in him.
Before his official swearing-in on Wednesday, January 22, the Adaklu Member of Parliament (MP) made this pledge on his Facebook page.
“I pledge to work hard to justify this trust,” he stated.
Mr Agbodza further expressed his gratitude, saying, “First, I am deeply honoured and humbled by this high privilege and the confidence placed in me by His Excellency the President. I take this opportunity to express my sincere appreciation to him.”
He continued, “Second, I extend my gratitude to members of the Appointments Committee for their constructive assessment and to my colleagues in the plenary for their subsequent approval this evening. I am fully aware of the responsibility entrusted to me in leading the vision of His Excellency the President in the roads sector.”
As the Majority Chief Whip, Agbodza will now hand over this parliamentary leadership position to Nelson Defeamekpor, MP for South Dayi. He also reiterated his commitment to serving in his new role.
“As I prepare to take office, I will continue to count on your prayers and support. I commit to serving diligently and keeping my doors open for feedback,” he said.
He emphasised, “I have no doubt that, together, we will make significant contributions towards advancing the vision of His Excellency the President to reset Ghana and rebuild our infrastructure. Thank you.”
Mr Agbodza is among the first batch of ministers of state the president, John Mahama inducted into office on Wednesday.
