NDC MP for Lower Manya Krobo, Micheal Teye Nyaunu, has vehemently denied campaigning for the opposition NPP at a rally on Sunday. He conceded however that he shouted "eeshie" the popular slogan of the NPP during the prayer rally.A voice recording played on a radio station canvassing for votes for the NPP has been attributed to him but that he said cannot be true. The MP is alleged to have campaigned for the NPP at the prayer rally organised by the NPP parliamentary candidate in Upper Manya Krobo. The NDC parliamentary candidate was also present at the rally. But, Mr. Teye Nyaunu insisted that voice can never be his.He told Joy News' Sammy Darko he never endorsed the NPP candidate. He insisted at no point did he canvass for votes for the NPP Candidate, adding “Am I so stupid and naïve to tell them to vote for NPP when I am also a contestant or candidate?”He dared critics to play the audio said to be his voice canvassing for votes for the NPP.He however conceded shouting the slogan of the NPP, but was quick to explain he had no choice but to shout “eeshie” because the programme he attended was organized by the NPP.“When I was going to talk I pronounced their slogan, eeshie. That is their platform. And they invited me. I could not have gone there to mention any other slogan. No way.“When they said they should pray for her I said I am also contesting so I didn’t pray for her to win. I was just sitting down,” he stated. He dismissed assertions he must resign from the party he has so publicly condemned in recent times, adding he will do so at his own time.
