Rapper Yaa pono has stated that he will never record a song with dancehall act, Shatta Wale.
According to him, he does not see himself joining forces with Shatta Wale to work on track after their beef that grabbed nationwide attention.
The beef between Yaa Pono and Shatta Wale escalated after the former was denied an opportunity to perform at a concert headlined by Shatta Wale in Cape Coast in the Central region last month.
The organizers of the concert later explained that Yaa Pono was unable to perform because they were running out of time and therefore had to cut down on the performances.
Things got ugly when the two released diss tracks to attack each other.
In an interview with DJ Black on the Open House Party on Joy FM, the “My Case” rapper commenting on his beef with Shatta Wale noted that; “There’s a lot of disrespect in the game that I don’t need to make it right."
"I need to make mine on my path with my people right and I believe when it sounds good in the ears of the other people, everybody is going to follow because respect is the first thing in this world.”
Explaining his reasons for recording his two diss tracks – ‘Noko’ and ‘Gbee Nabu’ - against Shatta Wale he said; “I recorded this song because, Shatta Wale did a live video calling me his boy and I’m never his boy and I can never be his boy but, I like his songs.
"One thing about Ghana is that development affects music so we have to live according to the people we preach to."
“It’s not about dividing the fans, it’s about keeping them together so we all preach one thing to them and I am ready for any artiste who will come so we can preach the right thing to the right people.”
