A 47-year-old murder suspect on remand Lawrence Opoku, on Thursday refused to appear before a Takoradi District Court.
His plea has not been taken.
Prosecuting, Police Inspector Mike Ahiadzu, told the court presided over by Mr. Samuel Entee (Junior) that when court officials were dispatched to the Sekondi Prisons to convey Opoku to the court, he allegedly refused to appear in court and the prison officers also relayed the message to the court official.
Mr Entee (Jnr) expressed his surprise at the state of affairs and said "when suspects' cases are delayed they accuse the prosecution and the court for delaying.
"He should have been in court no matter the circumstances," he stressed.
The case has been fixed for Feb. 1 next year.Source: GNA
