Asante Kotoko forward Kwame Opoku has expressed his readiness to represent the Black Stars when given the opportunity.
Coach Otto Addo is expected to bolster his squad with a reliable goal-scorer as the Black Stars resume their FIFA World Cup qualifiers in March.
The team has faced challenges in the final third, which, coupled with other issues, contributed to their failure to qualify for the 2025 African Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Morocco.
Opoku, who recently rejoined Asante Kotoko on a two-and-a-half-year deal after stints in Algeria and Morocco, has been in scintillating form.
The striker has scored four goals in three matches, helping the Porcupine Warriors climb to third place on the league table with 31 points.
Speaking to Asempa FM, the former Nkoranza Warriors striker reiterated his commitment to earning a spot in the national team.
“I believe that during my first time with the Black Stars, I had more to offer, but maybe it wasn’t the right moment," he said.
"Now, I am focused on improving my game, and if the chance comes to represent the Black Stars, I’ll be ready and willing to give my all for the national team."
