The first woman and the first African to serve as the Executive Director/Regional Head for IBM North, East and West Africa, was part of the newly reconstituted Governing Board of the Bank of Ghana.
Angela Kyerematen-Jimoh, an alumna of Harvard Business School, London Metropolitan University and Wesley Girls High School, was among nine others sworn in last Friday.
Friday's swearing-in also included Dr Maxwell Opoku-Afari, First Deputy Governor of the central bank; Elsie Addo Awadzi, Second Deputy Governor of the Bank of Ghana and Charles Kofi Adu Boahen, Minister of State at the Ministry of Finance.
Others were Dr Kwame Owusu-Nyantekyi, Dr Samuel Nii-Noi Ashong, Jude Kofi Bucknor, Joseph Blignam Alhassan, Andrew Adinorte Boye-Doe and Dr Regina Adutwum.

Angela is the Executive Director/Regional Head for IBM North, East and West Africa. It is a role that sees her leading IBM’s business and strategy in 35 countries across Africa.
She has over 20 years of experience in sales and marketing in the ever-evolving, fast-paced Finance and Technology industry globally and in Ghana.
Prior to joining the global technology giant IBM, she worked for UBS Investment Bank and ABN AMRO in the UK. She was also Head of Consumer Banking for GT Bank Ghana and Head of Prestige Banking for UBA Bank Ghana.
She joined IBM Ghana in 2011 and worked across diverse business units in East and West Africa. In 2015, she became the first female Country Manager for IBM in Africa, a role that saw her broker some of the largest deals in East and West Africa.

She transitioned into a global role working with Senior Management at IBM’s Headquarters in New York before her promotion to her current role.
Ms Kyerematen-Jimoh is a strong advocate of ‘women supporting women’ among her peers and is an avid mentor for women in the corporate sector. In addition to her illustrious career, she makes time to support the less privileged in rural areas.
She is the recipient of the US African Women Forum’s Global Impact Leadership Award, African Achievers Awards for Excellence in Business and is also ranked as one of ‘Africa’s Most Influential Women’ by Avance Media.’
