Ghanaian forward Ibrahim Sadiq came off the bench to score the winning goal in the final game of the season on Sunday.
Sadiq scored the winner in the five-goal thriller involving AZ Alkmaar and Twente as the former sealed European football for next season.
The Ghanaian, who started the game off the bench, was introduced before the start of the second half, replacing Ernest Poku.
The 25-year-old came on with his side trailing 1-2 following Sem Steijn's brace before Mexx Meerdink pulled one back for AZ.
Ruben van Bommel levelled the score for the home side in the 53rd minute before Sadiq completed the comeback in added time to secure all three points.
His goal on Sunday meant he finished the 2024/25 Eredivisie season with six goals and four assists in 19 games for the club.
By finishing fifth, AZ will play in the Conference League tournament next season.
