THE FERVOR that greeted the Idols West Africa auditions in Accra was overwhelming. Two refugees from Liberia and Sierra Leone were among the youngsters that waited patiently in the long queue to be auditioned on Saturday. There was a big buzz on the street, with some Ghanaian ladies' appearing model-like, compelling a second look.Ghana’s TV3 programme, Rythms, and Metro TV responded positively to the buzz, brandishing their cameras to catch in on the high spirit and elegance. One of the highlights of the audition was a performance by a young Ghanaian girl who did very well in Ghana’s Top Model competition; she sang Whitney Houston’s ‘Try it On My Own’.To see whether or not she has made it through, check the high - (and low!) lights of the Accra auditions during the show on March 4.Daily Guide
