The Director of Communications for the Bawumia Campaign Team, Dennis Miracles Aboagye, has addressed the party’s defeat in the 2024 elections and the internal divisions that may have contributed to the outcome.
During an interview on Asempa FM’s Ekosiisen Show on Monday, February 10, the Director declared his willingness to take responsibility if blamed for the loss, while calling for unity and reform within the party.
"If I am blamed for our defeat during the 2024 elections, for the party to re-organise itself for the next election, I accept that," he stated.
He also added "If that will bring peace and harmony to the party, I accept it."
The Communications Director also took the opportunity to clarify his role during the 2024 campaign, stating that he was not responsible for handling finances.
"First of all, I would like to put it on record that I was not the Director of Finance for the campaign, so I didn’t handle money," he explained.
Mr Aboagye also touched on the fragmented nature of the communications department during the election period. He noted that there were significant challenges within the team, revealing that the former Communications Director, Yaw Adomako Baafi, was unhappy with their appointment.
"Yaw Adomako Baafi wasn’t happy with my appointment as the Communications Director, and that is even on record," he said.
He noted that the former Communications Director appeared once in their meetings.
"He never showed up at our meetings prior to the 2024 elections; he was only there once," he noted.
