The Executive Director of Imani Ghana, Mr. Franklyn Cudjoe has accused the Ghana Statistical Service of not doing a good job in providing the nation with accurate socio-economic figures. This was in response to a statement made by the former first lady, Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings. In her assertion, the former First Lady described Ghana as one of the most expensive countries to live in, on the African continent. Nonetheless, Mr. Cudjoe said though Mrs. Rawlings is badly bruised after she lost the NDC congress in Sunyani earlier this month, her declaration is one that is factual and devoid of politics. Speaking on Asempa FM’s current affairs talk show “Ekosii Sen” Mr. Cudjoe expressed his disbelief in inflationary figures presented by the Ghana statistical Services saying that their inability to provide the nation with accurate population figures is a problem on its own. “When communicating statistical information you have to be circumspect otherwise you give politicians the room to do whatever they want to do” he noted. Mr. Cudjoe went on to refute accusations that his outfit was a political platform used to denigrate government, insisting that they only bring important national issues to the fore.
