The Consul General of the Honorary Consulate of the Republic of Indonesia in Ghana, His Excellency Paskal Rois has extended heartfelt congratulations to His Excellency John Dramani Mahama on his re-election as President of Ghana.
He asserted that H.E Mahama's resounding victory in the 2024 general elections was a “reflection of the trust and confidence Ghanaians have in his vision and leadership.”
H.E. Rois said this in a communique copied to Myjoyonline.com.
He also commended political parties and the people of Ghana for committing to democratic principles to conduct a peaceful election.
He said the Consulate of Indonesia is ready to collaborate with the incoming government in achieving the desired goals under the leadership of John Mahama.
He further indicated that “Indonesia and Ghana share a history of strong bilateral relations, underpinned by shared values and aspirations. With Indonesia's robust economy and extensive expertise in industries such as agriculture, manufacturing, energy, and technology, there is vast potential for mutually beneficial partnerships.”
He expressed confidence in John Mahama's leadership, believing both countries could explore opportunities in agriculture, energy, tourism, education, and technology among others to promote economic growth.
Agro-Industry and Food Security
H.E Rois said that Indonesia being a global leader in agricultural innovation and food processing, would share its expertise with the incoming government to enhance Ghana’s agricultural value chain.
He added that partnerships in this sector will boost productivity, promote food security, and create employment.
Energy Development
He stressed that a strong collaboration would lead to Ghana benefiting from Indonesia's advanced renewable energy and sustainable mining practices, which would guide it to invest in clean energy projects.
“This collaboration will support Ghana's energy transition and infrastructure development”, he explained.
Trade and Investment
H.E Rois indicated that The Consulate would facilitate business delegations and joint ventures that would promote export and import, and as well attract investments into key Ghanaian sectors.
He said expanding trade relations with Indonesia would grant Ghanaian investors access to a market of over 270 million people in the South Asian country.
Tourism and Cultural Exchange
He indicated both countries can use the tourism sector to promote social connection between Ghanaians and Indonesians, while raking in foreign exchange.
“Both nations can tap into their rich cultural heritage to promote tourism and strengthen people-to-people connections, fostering goodwill and mutual understanding”, said H.E Rois.
Education and Technology
He noted that Ghanaians could leverage scholarship opportunities provided by Indonesian institutions to study in various fields to enhance the country’s human resources.
“Indonesian institutions and technology hubs would offer scholarships, exchange programs, and technical expertise to Ghanaian students and professionals, advancing human capital development”, he said.
“The Honorary Consul of Indonesia in Ghana, H.E. Paskal A.B. Rois, reaffirms his commitment to facilitating these opportunities and driving collaboration between Ghanaian and Indonesian entities.
H.E Rois said the Consulate is in anticipation to coordinate with the Embassy of Indonesia in Abuja, to facilitate a visit by President-elect, John Mahama to Indonesia following his inauguration.
“Such a visit will further strengthen the foundation of Ghana-Indonesia relations and create a roadmap for strategic partnerships that will contribute to Ghana’s growth and sustainable development.
“The Consulate remains steadfast in its mission to foster a prosperous and dynamic partnership between Indonesia and Ghana”, he concluded.
