The Centre for Petroleum Studies (CPS), affiliated to the Texas University, says it will provide professional training and advise to the workforce required for Ghana’s oil industry.
As the oil find and exploration dominate the headlines in the Ghana, it will need the services of well equipped energy professionals with tools to enable their positive contribution to the oil industry in Ghana.
Most institutions are coming out with strategic roles in providing training and skills to people ahead of the exploration of the oil at cape three points.
The CPS in view of this said it would help ensure that the country has a strong workforce dealing with its oil industry.
At a forum held by the CPS at the British Council, Mr. Emmanuel Bentum, a lecturer at the Chemical Engineering Department of KNUST Kumasi, disclosed that, more people are going to be employed in the industry when they acquire knowledge and skills in the oil industry.
He added that, it will reduce unemployment rate and also increase revenue through taxes to the government.
