Dr Lawrence Tetteh, an International Evangelist on Wednesday called on Africans to exploit the African Union Day celebration to achieve the vision of the African Liberation project.
Speaking on “Total Liberation”, as the “Central Thesis of Africa Liberation Day,” in Accra, he called for the total liberation of Africans “spirit, body and soul”.
He stressed on the need for Africans to be emancipated from all forms of spiritual and practical oppression, which includes political disunity, economic impoverishment, cultural confusion, ethnicity , crime and hatred.
“The Bible says that ‘Seek ye first the Kingdom of God and all other good things shall be added unto you.’
“The tragedy of the Africa Liberation Project is that it has not been consistent with the Holy Spirit, which acknowledges that Divine Wisdom is higher than human Intellect.
“Nearly 50 years… the object of African Unity has not been achieved – at great human and financial cost.”
Dr Tetteh referred to a famous quotation of Dr Kwame Nkrumah, which said that ‘the independence of Ghana is meaningless unless it is linked with the total liberation of the African Continent’, saying the liberation agenda has to be Spiritual first and foremost.
He noted that the spirituality of the emancipation story should be the foundation of all things before the political, economical, intellectual, cultural and social should follow.
“The Spirit is the fundamental source of existence, and the physical is the expression of the spiritual realm.”
Dr Tetteh said: “The Bible says ‘all things are possible with Almighty God; through Christ we can do all things’ and there is absolutely nothing impossible with Almighty God If only we believe and exercise faith in righteousness.”
He called for a new approach to Africa liberation, which should be a Holy-Spirit-led to free Africans and the African Continent from all forms of injustice, which would liberate Diaspora Africans throughout the world, from all forms of discrimination.
