The Mfantseman West Vice Chairman of the New Patriotic Party, Felix Nyarko-Antwi has called on the Bank of Ghana (BOG) to involve teachers in the re-denomination exercise.
Mr. Nyarko-Antwi said teachers were agents of dissemination of news in the communities therefore, sidelining them in this important exercise could have some negative impact.
Mr Nyarko-Antwi said the call to involve teachers in the exercise
did not mean organizations like Information Services Department and the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE) were not performing.
"I believe that a greater impact can be made if teachers use pupils to carry the message to their parents," he stressed.
He said teachers were found in all parts of the country and people, particularly children regarded them as credible source of information.
"Officials of the national bank should not take the exercise so lightly, its implementation can pose problems therefore they should ensure that all those who matter are involved in it," he stated.Source: GNA
