Izwe Savings and Loans Plc has awarded scholarships to 8 tertiary students as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility for 2022.
The Izwe Scholarship Fund provides opportunity for Senior High School (SHS) graduates who have excellent grades but are truly financially needy, to pursue undergraduate or equivalent tertiary programs of their choice at any public tertiary institution in Ghana.
The scholarship is intended to develop capacities and knowledge of young people, to empower them to drive change.
The successful candidates were taken through a series of interviews conducted by the Izwe Scholarship Committee.
The 8 successful candidates are currently students at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science & Technology and University of Development Studies.
The Izwe scholarship fund provides for academic user fee and approved textbooks for the maximum period required for the individual to complete an academic program specified by their chosen educational institution.
The fund has over the years supported 62 students across various universities in Ghana. 40 of the beneficiaries have successfully completed their studies while 12 remain active beneficiaries of the scheme.
Many have gone ahead to become Doctors, engineers while others occupy roles that impact the society in diverse ways. The key focus is to make a positive impact on the lives of people in the communities through Izwe Corporate Social Responsibility.
