The Japanese government has donated relief items worth one hundred and sixty thousand dollars to the country. The items included blankets, plastic chairs, and water purifiers. The Japanese Ambassador to Ghana Keiich Kata-kami made this known at the Osu Castle Monday. He said plans were also far advanced to extend an eight-million dollar grant to Ghana for the purchase of rescue equipments. The money, according to Ambassador Kata-kami, will be used to buy trucks, bulldozers, forklifts, excavators and so on. The donations come at a time when many parts of Northern Ghana have suffered severe flooding leaving many people homeless. Source: Joy News/Ghan
