Ghanaian boxer, John Laryea, says he is looking forward to making the most of the opportunity he has got to make his family proud.
The two-time undefeated WBO African Featherweight champion is currently managed by Samuel Anim Addo and famous boxing manager Peter Kahn.
Laryea, also known as 'The Expensive Boxer' has been on a media tour ahead of his fight in the United States of America next month.
Speaking on Joy News, the youngster revealed his desire to continue being under the tutelage of his managers as he aims to chalk more successes.
"I have a poor background but I am willing to make my family smile and enjoy success," said Laryea.
"I want to thank Anim Addo for where he is taking me to. I am very pleased with where I have gotten to. I know I won't disappoint him [for the investment he has made]."
Anim Addo, who also serves as the CEO of the Asamoah Gyan Foundation, revealed how they were able to land the partnership with Kahn.
"[Laryea] has learnt a lot...we need to prepare him before we get to the U.S. Peter Kahn is the best boxing promoter in the world," he said.
"Peter Kahn reached out to us. We were doing a good thing and someone who understands the sport more than us came in and he is now part of the team.
"We are hoping maximum of four to five fights, Laryea will be close to a world title."
