The Vice Presidential candidate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Mr. John Mahama has received with shock news of the death of a supporter of the party.
The death occurred in an accident at Lamashorgu in the Tamale metropolis when supporters of the party were jubilating following his visit to the regions as part of his campaign tour of the three northern regions.
Thirty others are said to be receiving treatment in the hospital having sustained injuries in the accident.
The vehicle of the jubilant NDC supporters reportedly veered off the road in an attempt to avoid a head on collision with an articulator truck.
The Communication Director of the John Mahama campaign, Mr. Mawuko Dzormelo told Joy News that the Bole/Bamboi Member of Parliament was devastated by the news.
Mr. Mahama led a second campaign team to the three northern regions starting from last Friday.
