Former Secretary-General of the ruling National Democratic Congress, Dr Nii Armah Josiah Aryeh, says he is ready to work with the Mills administration if he is given the opportunity.
Dr Aryeh was suspended from the party in 2005 on allegations that he collected $3000 from officials of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to resign from the NDC.
He has since denied the allegations. A committee was constituted then to investigate the circumstance but Dr Aryeh said he is yet to be furnished with the outcome of the committee's investigations.
Speaking on Joy FM’s Super Morning Show the law lecturer said he still considers himself a stanch member of the ruling party.
He hinted that he is ready to serve with the Mills administration, four years after he had been axed.
“I want to be a hands-on persons; you don’t want to be distant or withdrawn,” he stressed.
Asked what his response would be if the president handed him a job in his administration, Dr Aryeh said: “I’ll listen to him because he is my president after all. If anybody invites me I will listen to the person.”
The former kingpin of the NDC also disclosed that although he no longer holds a position in the NDC, he has maintained excellent relations with key members of the party.
He told Joy News he had had wide-ranging discussions with highly-placed members of the party and that he still has a lot to offer.
Dr Aryeh also touched on comments by some members of the party seeking for punished members to be “amnestied.”
He said he has kicked against such suggestions because he believes his hands are clean.
