The spirit of pride and excitement is high at Mawuli School in Ho as the institution marks its 75th Anniversary with a week-long series of activities that began on Monday, October 20, 2025.
Celebrated under the theme “Empowering the Head, Heart and Hand into the Future,” the anniversary has brought together old students, current learners, staff, and friends of the school to commemorate decades of academic excellence, discipline, and leadership.

The opening day, dubbed Mievado — meaning “we have come” in Eʋe — welcomed hundreds of returning alumni and guests to the campus for registration and a heartwarming reunion. The day’s programme also featured a community health screening for residents of Mawuli and Ho, as well as an exhibition showcasing the rich history and legacy of the school.

The week’s activities include a community clean-up, choral and debate nights, mentorship and career presentations, inter-house sports, and cultural performances. The much-anticipated Grand Durbar, scheduled for Saturday, October 25, will feature the official handing over of the Anniversary Legacy Project, followed by a Dinner Dance and the crowning of Mr. and Miss Mawuli. The celebrations will climax on Sunday, October 26, with a Thanksgiving Service and the commissioning of other legacy projects.
Headmaster, Mr Benjamin Yaw Dei, described the anniversary as a moment of great pride and reflection, expressing optimism for the school’s future.

“Mawuli School has been and will always be the best among the best. This anniversary promises to be great beyond expectations — a true celebration of our journey, our people, and our purpose,” he said.
Old students, represented by the Mawuli Old Students Association (MOSA), along with the anniversary planning committee, also expressed their excitement about the milestone. They noted that the celebration is not only about honouring the school’s rich legacy but also about creating new opportunities for current students and generations to come.

Throughout the week, a daily Food Bazaar at Baeta Park will add a lively, communal atmosphere to the festivities.
As the celebrations continue, Mawuli School stands tall — marking 75 years of shaping minds, nurturing character, and inspiring leaders across Ghana and beyond.
