Two persons  who flouted the Accra Metropolitan Assembly's environmental by-laws have been arrested at the Kwame Nkrumah Interchange in Accra  by the AMA Metro Health Inspectors.
The two were arrested engaging in various environmental offences  when the  Metro[DA1] Health Inspectors were on a weekly outreach to sensitize the public on sound environmental and food safety awareness, under the Joy Clean Ghana Campaign, a JoyNews initiative in collaboration with the Accra Metropolitan Assembly.

The Joy Clean Ghana Campaign is aimed at improving environmental sanitation and hygiene conditions in communities and market places in Accra.
One of the offenders, a food vendor, has earmarked a location close to the main Odaw drain where she prepares food for sale, thus ignoring the unpleasant and unhealthy stench from the drain, while the other offender runs a public toilet that he has connected the effluence into the drain.
The Director of the AMA Metro Health, Madam Florence Kuukyi ordered those around to sweep the area.
Madam Kuukyi advised the food vendors to keep their surroundings clean to enable them sell wholesome food to the public.
