It was indeed a fun walk. A 10 kilometre walk to mark 20 years journey for Multimedia but at the end it was tears; tears of joy for many committed employees.

Saturday's walk summarized the tortuous journey by the Multimedai Group. A journey guided by a deliberate principled determination to empower people; a journey filled with grace and triumphs but also occasionally with anxiety.

The pools of sweat from ambitious young men and women, the sea of endurance and credibility built a reservoir of energy which ensured a smooth sailing of The Multimedia Group ship.

Captained, by founder and Chief executive officer Kwasi Twum, the multimedia ship has weathered storms and spread light in the nation's moments.

The ship is firmly anchored on the principles of integrity, community and service to humanity. And of course, family.

Consistent with these, the 20th anniversary fun walk was graced by persons who left an indelible mark when they were here.

One couldn't escape the sight of Samuel Atta Mensah, fondly called Samens. It is not only Samens' physical figure that gave him away.The man also has a large heart.

He is the Chief executive of Citi FM, unarguably the main competitor to Joy FM, Multimedia's flagship radio station, but he has participated in almost every important programme organised by Joy FM.

 He was at the walk. And so too were Ernest Koranteng, formerly head of Joy Sports; the famous Kofi Asare Brako (Abatey), formerly of Asempa sports, Abeiku Aggrey Santana, formerly of Adom amongst others.

As is the tradition of the Multimedia Group, the walk was energetic and full of excitement.

It started from the Trust Towers, and went to the Kwame Nkrumah Circle and turned in front of Niagara Hotel.

Energised by brass band music, the walkers went through Joy FM to Avenor and turned at the traffic lights.

They walked through the Nkrumah circle and passed in front of the GCB bank to Adabraka, through to the Farisco Traffic light. 

The last turn was at the Cathedral Square, from where the exuberant marchers walked back to the point of convergence at the Trust Towers.

After aerobics it was time to merry but the best was yet to come.

Whilst the gourmets gorged themselves with food and drinks, the roll call started and the awards started flowing.

The earlier list entailed mainly persons who were no longer working with the company but there were more to come and tears to follow.

After LED television sets were distributed to hardworking employees, past and present,  the list narrowed down to the last three and they got the highest reward for meritorious service.
