Joy FM in collaboration with State Insurance Company commissioned its second library at the E.P JHS, Ho Kpodzi in the Volta Region as part of the Read 100 Library Project.
The project is a Joy FM initiative and sponsored by SIC.
SIC donated books worth GH¢2,000 while the Member of Parliament for Ho central, Benjamin Kpodo donated 300 books worth GH¢1,000. Afram Publications also donated lots of books to support the project.
Mrs. Doris Awo Nkani, the Managing Director for SIC, commended the leadership of the E.P Church for allocating them land for the construction of the library. She referred to this act as "a gesture of true service to God and the people of Ho and beyond".
Mr. Max Cobbina, the Board Chairman of SIC pledged SIC's preparedness to make any changes to the library in the future, when they are called upon.
The MP for Ho Central Benjamin Kpodo was full of appreciation for Joy FM for initiating the project. Mr. Kpodo was hopeful the project will help improve the falling standard of education in the turn.
"I expect that the facility should be properly managed by GES so that it’s not just a nine day wonder" he said while urging the pupils to "to make good use of the library".
The Ghana Education Service in partnership with SIC and the E.P Church, set up a five member committee to manage the library.
Rev. S.A Amoako, the acting Moderator of the E.P Church dedicated and consecrated the library before the tour of the facility began. Students could not wait to start reading.
The Agbogbomefia of Asogli State Togbe Afede XIV, was represented by Togbe Kotoku XI.
