The month of June presents the world with an opportunity to celebrate heroes and in many cases, the heads of beautiful families across the world – Fathers. This year is no different as Father’s Day quickly approaches.
Ahead of Sunday, June 19, which marks Father’s Day, Joy FM has introduced ‘The Real Daddy Code’ promotion, with an aim of celebrating amazing fathers. The promotion seeks to put the spotlight on young fathers between the ages of 25 and 45 whose exceptional involvement in the lives of their children challenges the status quo in fatherhood.

The world often holds a perception that fathers are seldom present in the lives of their children. However, in recent times, many young fathers have changed the narrative, getting actively involved in parenthood right from antenatal stages through to adulthood. Clinics are filled with responsible men who escort their wives for antenatal checkups, while parks, cinemas and malls are decorated with loving fathers who are deeply rooted in sharing in all the fun with their adorable children. Such exemplary stories and more are what Joy FM seeks to highlight this Father's Day.
Speaking to the JoySMS team on Wednesday, June 8, Programs Manager of Joy FM, Edem Knight-Tay, intimated the reasons behind The Real Daddy Code campaign. She said, “we have relegated celebrating fathers into the background for too long. We are tired of reading forgiveness messages every Father’s Day. We want to highlight the good work that fathers are doing.”
Staff of Joy Brands who double as fathers are excited about the initiative, as it seeks to celebrate their hardwork which often go unnoticed. Sports Journalist Gary Al-Smith opined that “fatherhood is everything, and becoming a father caused me to make drastic changes in my life”, while Fifi Folson, Host of The Reason is Jesus on Joy FM, revealed that, “as a father if your children feel loved and secured, you have arrived”.
Other fathers at Joy FM have already shared their daddy codes, which confirm their ever-present involvement in the lives of their kids.

Joy FM is therefore casting its net wide as it seeks to celebrate fathers between the ages of 25 and 45 with ‘The Real Daddy Code’ promotion. Cherished listeners and the general public can be a part of it by simply sharing photos of some amazing father and children moments, as well as briefly detailing how important and gratifying it is to be involved and hands-on in the lives of their children. The photos and experiences can be shared together with each father’s specific REAL DADDY CODE (as demonstrated by some presenters above) with all fathers. These requirements should be sent via Whatsapp to 0551111997.

Winners of ‘The Real Daddy Code’ promotion will be treated to amazing experiences to crown the Father’s Day celebrations.
